For many years, BlazeBite has charged a small percentage of sales, a model similar to apps like UberEats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. While this model has worked well for us, we’ve all seen how it can lead to frustration in other platforms: users complain about increased prices, delayed service, and a sense of being “overcharged.” These companies face criticism from all angles—customers frustrated by inflated costs, drivers dissatisfied with earnings, and businesses feeling the squeeze on their margins.

But to ensure we avoid these common pitfalls as we grow, we’re introducing a subscription model that’s built around fairness, predictability, and value for our venues. This approach lets us maintain the simplicity and affordability our customers appreciate, while continuing to deliver the seamless experience that makes BlazeBite unique.

Why a Subscription Model?

While our percentage-of-sales model has proven successful, we want to offer an even simpler, more predictable cost option. Some venues are concerned when they hear “10% of sales,” imagining it applied to their total annual revenue rather than the increase BlazeBite generates. In reality, BlazeBite often increases concession sales by around 30%, so the 10% fee only applies to this growth in sales—not existing sales. However, explaining this in financial terms can feel overwhelming for booster clubs that are simply looking to raise funds for school programs.

Our new subscription plans are designed to take the guesswork out of budgeting for mobile ordering technology. Schools can choose the model that best fits their needs:

  • Monthly and Annual Subscription Plans with tiered options.
  • Standard Credit Card Fees: While these are a common industry cost, we’re exploring ways to let venues pass them to customers if desired.

For venues with lower transaction volumes, the percentage model remains available. Our goal is to provide options that let schools and booster clubs pick what best fits their unique needs.
